How We Recommend Things

At Blue Glass Farm, we've grown tens of thousands of pounds of produce and helped hundreds—if not thousands—of people eat better.

We work with everyone from food access organizations, to James Beard Award–winning chefs, to customers looking for the kohlrabi they remember from childhood. The advice you'll find here is the same advice we give at the farmers market, at the CSA stand, or in our newsletters.

If we recommend something, it's because it's what we'd say to you face to face.

What a Recommendation Means Here

When we suggest an ingredient, a tool, or a book, it's because we think it's worth your time.

Sometimes that's because it's excellent.
Sometimes it's because it's reliable.
Sometimes it's because it's familiar, easy to find, or just works.

The reason can vary. The confidence doesn't.

We don't recommend things casually, and we don't recommend things we wouldn't feel good about suggesting in person.

Choice Is Always Yours

Nothing we recommend is required.

You're free to substitute, shop locally, use what you already have, or ignore a link entirely. Some people love dialing things in. Others want a solid nudge in the right direction. We're comfortable serving both.

When we point to a specific option, it's meant to be helpful—not prescriptive.

Affiliate Links & Transparency

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you choose to purchase through them. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

That income helps support the farm and the time it takes to create recipes and resources. It doesn't determine what we recommend, and it doesn't obligate you to buy anything.

The Bottom Line

We're real people who care about good food and the people eating it.

If we recommend something here, it's because we believe in it—and it's the same recommendation we'd give you standing across the table at the market.
