Salad Lettuce

Mix of Salanova-style lettuce leaves with loft, crunch, and character

Storage

Store in a mesh or perforated produce bag in the crisper drawer.

Shelf Life

10-14 days, often longer. Because the leaves are removed whole—not chopped—the mix stays fresh longer. Occasional baby leaf lettuce may be more tender and have a slightly shorter shelf life (about a week).

Flavor & Texture

Unlike the soft, chopped blends at the store, our leaves have loft, crunch, and character. Salanova lettuces are bred for flavor and structure—some leaves are buttery, others crisp. You'll get a mix of textures that holds dressing beautifully without going soggy.

Prep Tips

We've already removed and bagged the leaves for you—no cores to trim or heads to chop. Just rinse and spin if needed. Tear into smaller pieces if you like, but many leaves are salad-ready as-is.

How to Use It

  • Toss with vinaigrettes or creamy dressings
  • Layer into sandwiches, wraps, or rice bowls
  • Pair with quick-pickled veggies or roasted roots
  • Combine with fresh herbs or edible flowers for a standout salad

Tastes Great With

Radishes, turnips, eggs, mustard, citrus, dill, creamy dressings, toasted nuts, fresh cheese, and anything with crunch or acidity.

Watch Out For

Our lettuce is field-grown in compost-rich beds, so it's possible to find a slug or the occasional wood chip tucked in. Nothing ruins a great bite like a surprise splinter—give your greens a quick glance while rinsing just to be safe.

Fun Fact

Salanova lettuces are bred for salad mixes: mature heads with densely packed, bite-sized leaves that separate easily. They're more flavorful and last longer than baby greens, which are harvested young and fade fast.
